Adopted in 1987 from Timisoara — hoping to reconnect with birth family

In 1987, I was placed for adoption in Timisoara and raised in Chicago. I've always known I was adopted, and I've always wondered about my birth family. From what I've been able to learn, I was in the care of a non-profit adoption service in Timisoara before being adopted. I don't know much about my birth family. The adoption records mention a young mother who wanted more for their child than they could provide. I don't judge them. I understand that it must have been an impossible situation. I've connected with other adoptees from Romania through support groups. Some have found their families. I'm hoping I will too. If you are my birth father, or if you know someone from Timisoara who placed a child for adoption around 1987, please know: I am doing well. I am at peace. I would love nothing more than to know you, but I respect whatever boundaries you need. I've never stopped looking. I never will.
