My heart has had a hole in it since 2008, when my father Ana disappeared from our lives. My family had been targeted. We left in the middle of the night. At the time, Ana was just 14. The separation happened because of a raid on the workplace in Los Angeles. The thing that haunts me is remembering playing soccer in the dusty field behind our neighborhood.
