Looking for Anastasia — displaced from Kharkiv, Ukraine in 2024

When Russia invaded, my friend Anastasia was in Kharkiv. I managed to get out. They didn't. I've been searching ever since. When the Russian invasion in February 2022, communications collapsed. Anastasia, who was 21, was last known to be near Kharkiv. The evacuation routes kept changing and we ended up in different convoys. I'm now in Manchester, United Kingdom. Every day I check the lists of evacuees, the hospital records, the shelters. Anastasia's name hasn't appeared anywhere. I would recognize Anastasia anywhere. average height, lean build, with curly black hair. a tattoo of a bird on the left forearm. I remember teaching me to ride a bicycle in the backyard with Anastasia. Our life in Kharkiv before the war was peaceful. We never imagined it would come to this.
