Looking for my cousin Babajide from Ethiopia — lost contact in 2022

Babajide, my beloved cousin, left Dire Dawa in 2009. The distance was supposed to be temporary. It wasn't. Economic hardship forced many in our community to seek opportunities abroad. Babajide, then 16, left with the blessing of the whole family. For the first 15 months, we received occasional calls. Babajide was working in car washes in Washington DC and seemed to be doing okay. They talked about sending money home, about eventually bringing us over. A friend saw them around 2022. The phone number was disconnected and we had no other way to reach them. What I miss most is fishing trips to the river, where we never caught anything but always had fun. Babajide would be around 33 today. thin and wiry, always moved with quick energy. I just need to know they're alive. That would be enough. Please, if you know anything about Babajide, reach out. We just want to know they're safe.
