In 2011 near Houston, I lost the person who meant the world to me — my aunt, Miguel. The economy back home left us no choice — we had to seek a better life. Miguel had just turned 8 when it happened. We were caught up in a traffic stop that turned into a detention in Houston. I remember Sunday mornings when the whole family would cook together with Miguel. The messages suddenly stopped in 2014.
