Patricia, my cousin, was separated from us near Miami

My cousin Patricia and I were separated in 2007 during what was supposed to be a routine stop near Miami. That was the last time I saw them. The corruption and violence left us with no safe options at home. Patricia had just turned 24 when it happened. We were caught up in a traffic stop that turned into a detention in Miami. The thing that haunts me is remembering sitting on the porch watching the sunset, not saying much but feeling everything. Our last contact was 2020. We've heard nothing since.
