Searching for my friend Valentina, separated at the US border in 2006

I'm searching for Valentina, who is my friend. We lost each other in 2006 and I have never stopped looking. We had been living peacefully for years when everything changed overnight. At the time, Valentina was just 17. Everything fell apart during the chaos at the border processing center in Houston. What I miss most is the smell of fresh bread that would fill the kitchen every Saturday. The messages suddenly stopped in 2014. After that, nothing. Valentina would be around 37 years old now. Last I saw them, they were broad-shouldered, strong hands, with a weathered face. Sometimes I hear their voice in my dreams and wake up reaching for the phone.
