Adopted in 1964 from Jimma — hoping to reconnect with birth family

I'm an adult adoptee searching for my biological family. I was born in Jimma around 1964 and placed for adoption shortly after birth. From what I've been able to learn, I was in the care of an international adoption organization in Jimma before being adopted. I don't know much about my birth family. The adoption records mention a young couple who was unable to care for a child at the time. I don't judge them. I understand that it must have been an impossible situation. I've tried DNA testing, online registries, and even hired a researcher who specializes in Ethiopia adoptions. Each lead brings me a little closer, but I haven't found the answer yet. If you are my birth mother, or if you know someone from Jimma who placed a child for adoption around 1964, please know: I am doing well. I am at peace. I would love nothing more than to know you, but I respect whatever boundaries you need. My children ask about them, and I don't have answers to give.
