Born in Timisoara, adopted to United States — looking for biological parents

I was adopted from Timisoara in 1991 and brought to New York. My adoptive parents gave me everything I could have asked for, but there's a piece of my story that's missing. I was placed through a hospital-based adoption program. The records are incomplete, but I know I came from Timisoara. My adoptive parents have always been open about my adoption. They told me what little they knew: that my birth parents faced extreme hardship. That knowledge has always made me want to reach out, not with anger, but with gratitude. I've tried DNA testing, online registries, and even hired a researcher who specializes in Romania adoptions. Each lead brings me a little closer, but I haven't found the answer yet.
