I am searching for Dina, my sister. We were living in Erbil when the conflict forced us apart in 2015. The refugee camp became home for months before we could move on. When the bombing of our neighborhood happened, everything changed in an instant. I remember Dina as someone who never lost hope even when everything seemed lost. I cherish the memory of sitting on the porch watching the sunset, not saying much but feeling everything. Our last contact was 2022. A fellow refugee mentioned seeing someone matching their description in a camp near Manchester. Dina would now be approximately 31 years old. They were small-framed but tough, with sharp features, with a mole on the left cheek. I just need to know they're alive. That would be enough.
