Looking for Vasyl — displaced from Kyiv, Ukraine in 2024

Vasyl is my friend. We were separated during the evacuation of Kyiv. In the panic and confusion, we went in different directions. When the destruction of the bridge we were trying to cross, communications collapsed. Vasyl, who was 50, was last known to be near Kyiv. The evacuation routes kept changing and we ended up in different convoys. I made it to Canada through Poland. From Winnipeg, I've been contacting every refugee organization, every volunteer group, every social media page dedicated to finding missing Ukrainians. I would recognize Vasyl anywhere. about 5'8", medium build, with dark hair and brown eyes. a mole on the left cheek. I remember Sunday mornings when the whole family would cook together with Vasyl. Our life in Kyiv before the war was peaceful. We never imagined it would come to this. The holidays are the hardest — their empty chair at the table speaks volumes.
