My father Artem, lost during the evacuation of Kyiv

When Russia invaded, my father Artem was in Kyiv. I managed to get out. They didn't. I've been searching ever since. Artem was 8 years old at the time. The last message I received was a text saying they were heading to the shelter. After arriving in Winnipeg, I registered with the government's refugee registration system. So far, no matches. Artem was tall, around 6'1", slender, with a warm smile. They had eyes that changed color slightly in different light. Before the war, Artem and I shared a simple but good life in Kyiv. staying up late telling stories by flashlight when the power went out — those memories keep me going.
