Adopted in 2009 from Antigua — hoping to reconnect with birth family

I am an adoptee, born in Antigua around 2009. For as long as I can remember, I've carried questions about where I came from. From what I've been able to learn, I was in the care of a hospital-based adoption program in Antigua before being adopted. Growing up, I always felt something was missing. Not love — my adoptive family gave me plenty of that. But identity. Where do my eyes come from? My laugh? My stubborn streak? These are questions only my birth family can answer. I've connected with other adoptees from Guatemala through support groups. Some have found their families. I'm hoping I will too. If you are my birth family member, or if you know someone from Antigua who placed a child for adoption around 2009, please know: I am doing well. I am at peace. I would love nothing more than to know you, but I respect whatever boundaries you need. The not knowing is worse than any bad news could be.
