Adoptee from Romania (2012) searching for birth family

I am an adoptee, born in Iasi around 2012. For as long as I can remember, I've carried questions about where I came from. From what I've been able to learn, I was in the care of a state-run children's home in Iasi before being adopted. My adoptive parents have always been open about my adoption. They told me what little they knew: that my birth family couldn't provide for another child. That knowledge has always made me want to reach out, not with anger, but with gratitude. I've connected with other adoptees from Romania through support groups. Some have found their families. I'm hoping I will too. If you are my birth family member, or if you know someone from Iasi who placed a child for adoption around 2012, please know: I am doing well. I am at peace. I would love nothing more than to know you, but I respect whatever boundaries you need. Every time I see someone who looks like them on the street, my heart stops for a moment.
