Born in Saint Petersburg, adopted to United States — looking for biological parents

I was adopted from Saint Petersburg in 1987 and brought to Atlanta. My adoptive parents gave me everything I could have asked for, but there's a piece of my story that's missing. From what I've been able to learn, I was in the care of a local orphanage in Saint Petersburg before being adopted. Growing up, I always felt something was missing. Not love — my adoptive family gave me plenty of that. But identity. Where do my eyes come from? My laugh? My stubborn streak? These are questions only my birth family can answer. I've connected with other adoptees from Russia through support groups. Some have found their families. I'm hoping I will too. If you are my birth family member, or if you know someone from Saint Petersburg who placed a child for adoption around 1987, please know: I am doing well. I am at peace. I would love nothing more than to know you, but I respect whatever boundaries you need. The holidays are the hardest — their empty chair at the table speaks volumes.
