Guatemala adoptee looking for biological roots — born around 1983

My life began in Quetzaltenango. In 1983, I was adopted and brought to Houston. I have a wonderful life, but there's a gap in my history I'm trying to fill. The adoption was arranged through a private adoption agency. My adoptive parents traveled to Quetzaltenango to bring me home. Growing up, I always felt something was missing. Not love — my adoptive family gave me plenty of that. But identity. Where do my eyes come from? My laugh? My stubborn streak? These are questions only my birth family can answer. Recently I started searching in earnest. Social media, DNA databases, adoption reunion registries — I'm casting as wide a net as possible.
