In 1983, I made the hardest decision of my life. I placed my child for adoption in Daegu. There is not a single day that goes by when I don't think about them.
The circumstances were beyond my control. Poverty, family pressure, and a society that offered no support for someone in my situation made the choice feel inevitable.
Through a hospital-based adoption program, my child was placed with a family in United States. I was given almost no information about them.
My child would be approximately 43 years old now. I don't know their adopted name. I don't know what city they live in. But I know they're out there.
