Looking for my daughter Adebayo from Ethiopia — lost contact in 2016

My daughter Adebayo set out from Addis Ababa in 2004 to build a better life. The plan was for the rest of us to follow. We never did, and somewhere along the way we lost contact. The conflict in our region displaced our entire community. Adebayo, then 52, left with the blessing of the whole family. For the first 21 months, we received occasional calls. Adebayo was working in food trucks in Atlanta and seemed to be doing okay. They talked about sending money home, about eventually bringing us over. A friend saw them around 2016. We tried everything — calling mutual friends, reaching out to the diaspora community — but no one had recent news. I remember the birthday parties where the whole block would show up with Adebayo. Those are the memories I hold onto. Adebayo would be around 74 today. small-framed but tough, with sharp features. I promised myself I would find them before it's too late.
