Looking for my friend Ikenna from Nigeria — lost contact in 1994

I'm searching for my friend, Ikenna, who left Port Harcourt in 1991. We lost touch and I've been looking ever since. We pooled money from the entire extended family to send one person to find work abroad. Back then, Ikenna was 25 years old and believed the separation would be short. For the first 23 months, we received occasional calls. Ikenna was working in roofing in London and seemed to be doing okay. They talked about sending money home, about eventually bringing us over. The last time we heard anything was 1994. We tried everything — calling mutual friends, reaching out to the diaspora community — but no one had recent news. What I miss most is teaching me to ride a bicycle in the backyard. Ikenna would be around 60 today. tall, around 6'1", slender, with a warm smile. The not knowing is worse than any bad news could be.
