In 2011 near Houston, I lost the person who meant the world to me — my aunt, Miguel.
The economy back home left us no choice — we had to seek a better life. Miguel had just turned 8 when it happened.
We were caught up in a traffic stop that turned into a detention in Houston.
I remember Sunday mornings when the whole family would cook together with Miguel.
The messages suddenly stopped in 2014. After that, nothing.
Miguel would be around 23 years old now. They were thin and wiry, always moved with quick energy, with a mole on the left cheek.
I've never stopped looking. I never will. If anyone has any information about Miguel, please reach out. Even knowing they are alive would mean everything.
