My family member Bilal, separated by war in 2003

When the bombs started falling on Kabul in 2003, my family member Bilal and I ran in different directions. That was the last time I saw them. In the chaos of the evacuation, we lost each other in the crowd. During the airstrike that leveled our block, Bilal was separated from the rest of us. Bilal was 27 years old when we last saw each other. We were inseparable before the war changed everything. We lost all communication in 2017. The Red Cross/Red Crescent had no records. UNHCR tracing turned up nothing. Bilal would now be approximately 50 years old. They were about 5'8", medium build, with dark hair and brown eyes, with a small scar above the left eyebrow from a childhood fall. I've never stopped looking. I never will.
