My mother Nadia, separated by war in 2014

I am searching for Nadia, my mother. We were living in Kabul when the conflict forced us apart in 2014. We fled with nothing — no documents, no money, just terror. During a barrel bomb attack on our street, Nadia was separated from the rest of us. I remember Nadia as someone who never lost hope even when everything seemed lost. I cherish the memory of the smell of fresh bread that would fill the kitchen every Saturday. There was a brief call in 2014. The Red Cross/Red Crescent had no records. UNHCR tracing turned up nothing. Nadia would now be approximately 39 years old. They were about 5'8", medium build, with dark hair and brown eyes, with very distinctive laugh — you could hear it from rooms away. There's a hole in our family that only they can fill.
