Searching for my cousin Samir, separated during the Syria conflict

My cousin, Samir, and I were separated during the conflict in Damascus in 2018. I have spent every moment since trying to find them. The refugee camp became home for months before we could move on. Samir was with us until the very last moment before the collapse of the building next to ours. Samir was 41 years old when we last saw each other. They were the heart and soul of our family. The messages suddenly stopped in 2020. A fellow refugee mentioned seeing someone matching their description in a camp near Ottawa. Samir would now be approximately 49 years old. I would recognize them anywhere — broad-shouldered, strong hands, with a weathered face. Sometimes I hear their voice in my dreams and wake up reaching for the phone. If anyone has information about Samir, I beg you to contact us. War took everything from us. Please don't let it take this last chance.
