Searching for my grandfather Miguel, separated at the US border in 2013

It has been 13 years since I last held my grandfather Miguel's hand. We were separated, and I have been searching ever since. Violence in our hometown made staying impossible. Miguel had just turned 37 when it happened. We were caught up in a traffic stop that turned into a detention in Los Angeles. The thing that haunts me is remembering dancing in the kitchen to old records that belonged to our grandparents. A friend saw them around 2018. After that, nothing. Miguel would be around 50 years old now. They were broad-shouldered, strong hands, with a weathered face, with very distinctive laugh — you could hear it from rooms away.
