Adoptee from Russia (1985) searching for birth family

In 1985, I was placed for adoption in Novosibirsk and raised in Los Angeles. I've always known I was adopted, and I've always wondered about my birth family. I was placed through a state-run children's home. The records are incomplete, but I know I came from Novosibirsk. I don't know much about my birth family. The adoption records mention a young woman who made the incredibly difficult decision to give me a chance at a different life. I don't judge them. I understand that it must have been an impossible situation. Recently I started searching in earnest. Social media, DNA databases, adoption reunion registries — I'm casting as wide a net as possible. If you are my birth family member, or if you know someone from Novosibirsk who placed a child for adoption around 1985, please know: I am doing well. I am at peace. I would love nothing more than to know you, but I respect whatever boundaries you need. My mother prays for them every single night.
