Chidi — if you see this, your family in Nigeria is looking for you

I've been looking for my family member Chidi since 1994. This platform is my latest attempt to bridge the gap that opened when they left. After years of instability, the chance to emigrate seemed like our only option. Back then, Chidi was 35 years old and believed the separation would be short. We stayed in touch through phone calls and the occasional letter. Chidi spoke of life in Birmingham — the challenges of adapting, the loneliness, but also the small victories. The messages suddenly stopped in 2020. Someone from our community said they'd seen Chidi in Birmingham a while back, but couldn't remember exactly when. Chidi was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off their back. Chidi would be around 67 today. about 5'8", medium build, with dark hair and brown eyes.
