My son Dawit emigrated in 2011 — we've been searching ever since

It has been 15 years since my son Dawit disappeared from our lives. I refuse to give up searching. Ethnic tensions in our region made it dangerous to stay. Dawit, then 46, left with the blessing of the whole family. For the first 12 months, we received occasional calls. Dawit was working in day labor in Dallas and seemed to be doing okay. They talked about sending money home, about eventually bringing us over. The phone number stopped working around 2019.
