Russia adoptee looking for biological roots — born around 2004

My life began in Moscow. In 2004, I was adopted and brought to New York. I have a wonderful life, but there's a gap in my history I'm trying to fill. The adoption was arranged through a local orphanage. My adoptive parents traveled to Moscow to bring me home. Growing up, I always felt something was missing. Not love — my adoptive family gave me plenty of that. But identity. Where do my eyes come from? My laugh? My stubborn streak? These are questions only my birth family can answer. I've connected with other adoptees from Russia through support groups. Some have found their families. I'm hoping I will too. I would love nothing more than to know you, but I respect whatever boundaries you need. There's a hole in our family that only they can fill.
