Searching for my sister Carmen, separated at the US border in 2003

My sister Carmen and I were separated in 2003 during what was supposed to be a routine stop near Houston. That was the last time I saw them. Gang threats forced the family to flee with nothing but the clothes on our backs. Carmen had just turned 8 when it happened. We were caught up in being picked up by immigration agents in Houston. I remember fishing trips to the river, where we never caught anything but always had fun with Carmen. The messages suddenly stopped in 2024. After that, nothing. Carmen would be around 31 years old now. I'd recognize them anywhere — average height, lean build, with curly black hair. I still keep their photo in my wallet, worn and faded but precious.
