Searching for Pedro, last seen near New York in 2002

In 2002 near New York, I lost the person who meant the world to me — my son, Pedro. We had been living peacefully for years when everything changed overnight. Pedro was 47 years old at the time. Everything fell apart during a traffic stop that turned into a detention in New York. What I miss most is the smell of fresh bread that would fill the kitchen every Saturday. Our last contact was 2020. After that, nothing. Pedro would be around 71 years old now. They were compact build, thick eyebrows, always well-groomed, with very distinctive laugh — you could hear it from rooms away. My children ask about them, and I don't have answers to give.
